Hate has no home here! Attacks on one must be personal to all. We stand together as OneFairfax.

Let’s call out racism, antisemitism, Islamophobia, homophobia, xenophobia, ableism & all othering. AND let’s act in solidarity.

We stand up for freedom together. Love must prevail.

Happy Father's Day to my Dad who died too soon for the grandchildren he loved so much to know him, to Brian, whose #1 priority was to be a "Daily Dad" but died w/too few days to be a Dad & Craig, who promised my kids he'd be a true father to them & fulfills that promise every day

Happy Juneteenth! Today aa we celebrate freedom I recognize there's still work to do to ensure equality and justice for all. I stand in solidarity with our African American students and staff as we do this work. Link to SB recognition

Happy Juneteenth!

These flyers from the KKK targeting the school board were found at doorsteps in Fairfax County, some not far from my house. I'm proud of our school's work to include, see, and respect everyone. I'll always stand with marginalized communities, no matter how much hate comes my way

I want to offer a humble plea that all Twitter dialogue should focus on discussing the issues at hand, versus making personal attacks. As a former community advocate, I definitely remember feeling incredibly frustrated at times, but also saw that constructive dialogue works best

Contrary to some arguments, moving “Lost Cause” era monuments that glorify the Confederacy is about telling a more complete, and often more accurate, story. It is not about erasing history. http://www.washingtonpost.com/history/2021/06/16/civil-war-cannons-bull-run/#

We have child-proof caps for meds, fences for pools & car seat laws. 3 children die from lawn darts, they're banned. One child dies from a Peloton & they're recalled. But a child picks up an unsecured gun and kills himself and "It's just a tragic accident." Where is the outrage?

Happy Father’s Day! While my father is no longer with us, his legacy lives on in the lessons he taught us. The most important of those was extending kindness to all, even those who do not return it. He is still remembered for that kindness & acceptance towards others today.

Happy Juneteenth! On this FEDERAL holiday, we reflect upon the painful, ugly history of the enslavement of Black Americans and their struggles for freedom and human dignity. The fight in this great country is not over. We forge on, together and through education of our children
